Some jobs a standard storage shed can’t do. The horses need shade and a dry place to stand. The seedlings need light without the bugs. You want a quiet office out back, or a shelter for the cattle that holds up to a Florida summer. Sandalwood Shed’s & More builds accessory buildings for Ocala, Belleview, and the rest of Marion County for exactly those jobs, framed the same heavy way as our sheds and sized to fit the work.
We’re a veteran-owned, family-run Stor-Mor dealer, and we start every build with one question: what are you using it for? Tell us, and we’ll point you to the right structure, even when that’s the smaller or simpler one. Then we deliver it and set it up.
Sandalwood Shed’s & More builds accessory buildings near Ocala and Belleview, FL for jobs a basic shed can’t do: animal corrals, run-in sheds, tack buildings, greenhouses, finished she-sheds and home offices, and true custom builds. Each one is framed the same heavy way as our sheds, color matched to your property, and delivered and set up free within 50 miles. Built for Florida, and built to last.
A storage shed is great for storage. It’s the wrong answer when the job is an animal that needs shelter, plants that need light, or a room you actually want to spend time in. People try to force it anyway. They cram a tack room into a too-small shed, or park the horses under a tarp, or set up a “home office” in a building with no insulation that’s ninety degrees by ten in the morning.
It’s frustrating, and most of the frustration comes from being sold a box instead of the right building. You’ve probably been quoted a generic shed for a job that needed something built for it, or hit with a delivery fee nobody mentioned. You deserve a straight answer about what actually fits.
Force the wrong building and the cost shows up later: a shelter that rots or blows apart, a greenhouse that cooks, an office nobody uses. The right structure, built for the job the first time, is the cheaper path, and it’s the one we build.
A specialty building takes more abuse than a storage shed. Animals lean on it, weather beats on it, and a finished office has to stay comfortable year round. So we don’t build these any lighter. Here’s the honest difference in how ours go together, and why it matters in Florida:
Joe has been building for 30 years, and he treats your building like it’s going in his own backyard. We’ve delivered around 200 buildings and haven’t had one come back. You can see why in how they’re framed.
Shade, shelter, and a sturdy footprint for horses, cattle, and livestock. Built heavy enough to take the leaning, the weather, and the years, and sized to your herd and your pasture. Best for landowners and hobby farmers who need real shelter, not a tarp. See our animal corrals.
The open-front run-in that lets animals come and go out of the sun and rain, plus tack and feed storage built dry and secure. Pair them or split a building so the gear stays clean and the animals stay covered. Great for any horse or hobby-farm property. See run-in sheds and tack buildings.
A real growing space with a light-passing polycarbonate roof and a floor that handles water and potting work, framed to stand up to Florida wind and sun. For gardeners and growers who want to start seeds and protect plants year round. See our greenhouses.
A building finished on the inside: insulation, wall panels, flooring, and wiring so it’s comfortable to use the day it lands. Turn any shed into a room you’ll actually spend time in. Best for the she-shed, studio, or office buyer who wants it move-in ready. See finished Smart Space interiors.
A quiet, finished room steps from the house: a home office, art studio, or retreat with windows, a real door, and power. We build it to be worked in and lived in, not only stored in. For the buyer who needs space and quiet without an addition. See home office and she-shed conversions.
Here’s the honest version, because it actually works in your favor for a lot of these. Under Florida law, a true nonresidential farm building on land in bona fide agricultural use is exempt from the Florida Building Code and from county building permits and fees, except for floodplain rules (Florida Statute 604.50). That can cover a barn, a greenhouse, an animal shelter, or a storage building tied to the farm.
What that means on the ground: if your property qualifies as agricultural and the building is for farm use, you often don’t need a county building permit. If it doesn’t qualify, or it’s a finished office or she-shed for personal use, normal rules apply, and a larger structure may need a permit. Either way, setback, zoning, and any HOA rules still apply, and pulling a permit or proving ag status is the property owner’s responsibility, not ours. We deliver without requiring one, and we’ll point you to the right county office. Here’s our permit help.
A shell keeps the weather out. A finished building is one you’ll actually use. If you’re picturing an office, a studio, a she-shed, or a guest retreat, the inside is where it lives or dies in the Florida heat. That’s what our Smart Space finished interiors are for: insulation in the walls, finished panels, flooring, and wiring so the room is comfortable and ready the day it’s set, instead of an oven you avoid by noon.
Tell us how you’ll use it and we’ll talk through the right level of finish, from a simple insulated shell to a move-in-ready office with windows, lighting, and power. See finished Smart Space interiors. Or look at full home office and she-shed conversions. We’ll be straight with you about what’s worth doing and what isn’t.
Call, text, or stop by the lot and tell us the job, the animals, the plants, or the room you're picturing. We'll ask the questions that matter and confirm the right structure and size.
One honest quote with delivery and setup included, no hidden fees. If a smaller or simpler build does the job, we'll tell you.
In-stock buildings arrive in about 7 to 10 days, custom orders in about 20 to 25. We place it, level it, and stand behind it.
If the job doesn’t fit a standard model, that’s our favorite kind of project. We can match the siding color and the shingle color to your house, add windows, doors, walk-doors, and the upgrades that fit how you’ll use the building, and we’ve built plenty of one-off “dream” buildings from a picture a customer brought in. Bring us what you’re picturing, and we’ll tell you honestly what’s doable and what it takes, no pressure to add anything you don’t need.

We frame them the same heavy way as our sheds, then build to the use. Tell us the job and we’ll match the building.

Yes. Specialty buildings take more abuse, so they keep the same heavy framing: a double 2×8 top plate, double studs at the siding seams, framed house-grade vents, and a treated LP ProStruct floor. That’s what stands up to animals, weather, and daily use in Florida.
