Wood Garages Built for Florida

You want a real garage. Somewhere the truck or the project car isn’t baking in the Florida sun, where the tools finally have a home, and the mower isn’t wedged in beside the kids’ bikes. Sandalwood Shed’s & More builds wood garages for Ocala, Belleview, and the rest of Marion County that do exactly that, sized to fit your lot and finished to match your house. We’re a veteran-owned, family-run Stor-Mor dealer, and we’d rather size you the right garage than sell you the biggest one on the lot. Tell us what you’re parking or building in there, and we’ll point you to the one that fits, then deliver and set it up.

Tired of Your Vehicle and Tools Living Out in the Weather?

A carport keeps the rain off, but the sides are open and the heat still gets in. A cheap metal shell rusts at the seams and bakes like an oven by noon. Meanwhile the truck’s paint fades, the mower seizes up with moisture, and the workshop you keep meaning to set up never has four walls to call its own.

It’s frustrating, and most of the frustration is about being sold the wrong thing. You’ve probably been quoted a building that was too small once you actually loaded it, or hit with a delivery fee nobody mentioned up front. You deserve a straight answer and a garage that’s still standing strong in ten years, not one you’re replacing before the truck is paid off.

Skip the garage and the cost doesn’t go away, it just shows up later: a faded finish, rusted tools, and a second purchase down the road. A garage built right the first time is the cheaper path, and it’s the one we build.

Built to Take the Heat, the Rain, and the Years

A garage holds your vehicle and your work, so it has to be built heavier than a basic shed. Here’s the honest difference in how ours go together, and why it matters in Florida:

  • A double 2×8 top plate, not a single 2×4, so the walls carry a heavier roof and stay square through wind and time.
  • Double studs every four feet at the siding seams, giving the nails a stronger surface to hold so panels don’t work loose.
  • Framed, house-grade gable vents, the same kind of vent you’d find on a home, framed into the wall instead of a thin plastic vent stuck on plywood. That moves the hot Florida air out.
  • LP siding, LP trim, and a treated LP floor built for moisture and termites, with a thick tongue-and-groove deck that handles the weight of a vehicle or heavy equipment.
  • Up to a 50-year siding warranty backed by Stor-Mor, because this is meant to last for life, not get replaced every five or six years.

Joe has been building for 30 years, and he treats your garage like it’s going in his own backyard. We’ve delivered around 200 buildings and haven’t had one come back. We take that seriously, and you can see it in how these are framed.

Three Garage Styles, One Built Right

Every garage we build starts with how you’ll use it, then matches a roofline and a size to the job. Here are the three styles, and the kind of buyer each one fits.

A-Frame Garage

The classic look. A clean, sloped A-frame roof that reads like a home garage and matches most houses without trying. Best when you want a straightforward one or two-vehicle garage that looks like it belongs on the property. See the A-frame garage.

Barn-Style Garage (Lofted)

The garage with attic storage built in. The barn-style gambrel roof opens up an overhead loft, so you park below and store the seasonal stuff, totes, and gear up top. Great for landowners and anyone short on square footage who needs the room to go up, not out. See the barn-style lofted garage.

Utility Garage

Simple, strong, and easy on the budget. A no-frills A-frame build for vehicles, equipment, and a workshop when you want the protection and the quality framing without the extras. See the utility garage.

What Sizes Do the Garages Come In?

Our wood garages run from around 12×16 on the small end up to 16×44 for a deep, two-bay build, with widths and lengths in between. A 12×16 or 12×20 fits a single vehicle plus a workbench. Step up to 14 or 16 feet wide when you want room to open the doors, walk around the vehicle, or run a real workshop along one wall. Go longer when you’re parking a truck and a mower, or a vehicle and a project.

Garage doors come in standard widths to match the build, so the opening fits what you’re driving in, from a car or side-by-side up to a full-size pickup. We’ll talk through the door size, window placement, and walk-door when we size the garage, because the right opening is half the job. Tell us the longest and widest thing going inside and we’ll size it from there.

What Will You Use Your Garage For?

Park and protect

Get the truck, the classic, the boat trailer, or the side-by-side out of the sun and the afternoon storms. A closed garage keeps the finish from fading and the moisture off the metal, which is the whole point of having one in Florida.

A real workshop

Four walls, a door you can close, and room for a bench and tools. Add windows and a walk-door and you've got a shop that's comfortable to work in instead of a corner of the carport. Want it finished inside with power and insulation? Ask about our finished interiors.

Serious storage

Mowers, equipment, seasonal gear, and the overflow that's been living in the house. A barn-style lofted garage doubles the room by adding storage overhead. If you need something larger or commercial-grade, we also build metal buildings.

Getting Your Garage Is Simple

Tell us what it’s for. Call, text, or stop by the lot and tell us what you’re parking or building in there. We’ll ask the questions that matter and confirm the right size and style.

We price it all-in. One honest quote with delivery and setup included, no hidden fees. If a smaller garage does the job, we’ll tell you.

We deliver and set it up. In-stock buildings arrive in about 7 to 10 days, custom orders in about 20 to 25. We place it, level it, and stand behind it.

Match It to Your House, Down to the Shingles

A garage shouldn’t look like it landed in your yard from somewhere else. We can match the siding color and the shingle color to your home, so it reads like part of the property the day it’s set. Add windows, extra doors, a walk-door, and the upgrades that fit how you’ll use it. Joe has built plenty of custom buildings from a picture a customer brought in. If you can picture it, bring it to us and we’ll tell you honestly what’s doable and what it takes. See all the ways to customize.

Delivery, Permits, and Paying for It

  • Delivery and setup, included. Free delivery and setup within 50 miles of Belleview, and free delivery on custom factory orders up to 170 miles. In-stock garages land in about 7 to 10 days, custom orders in about 20 to 25. See how delivery works.

  • Permits, the honest version. A detached garage is bigger than a no-permit shed, so in Marion County it usually needs a building permit, and pulling that permit is the property owner’s responsibility, not ours. We’ll point you in the right direction and tell you what we know about the local rules. Here’s our permit help.

  • Financing that’s fair. Pay cash, finance through Launch Credit Union, choose rent-to-own, or use 90 days same as cash. We approve on more than a credit score, and we won’t talk you into a building bigger than you need. See your financing options.

Where We Deliver Garages

We deliver wood garages across Marion County and the counties around it, from Ocala and Belleview to Silver Springs, Dunnellon, and out into Sumter, Citrus, Lake, Alachua, and Levy. If you’re within about 50 miles of our Belleview lot, delivery and setup are included. See your area.

Wood Garage Questions, Answered

What sizes do your wood garages come in?

Our wood garages run from about 12×16 up to 16×44, with widths and lengths in between. A 12×16 or 12×20 suits a single vehicle and a workbench, while 14 and 16-foot widths give you room to work around the vehicle. Tell us the longest and widest thing going inside and we’ll size it right.

Usually, yes. A garage is larger than a small shed, so unlike a 10×16 shed it typically needs a building permit in Marion County. Pulling the permit is the property owner’s responsibility, not ours, and we deliver without requiring one. Check with the Marion County Building Safety Division for your exact lot, and we’ll help point you the right way.

Yes. Our garages use a treated, thick tongue-and-groove floor built to carry a vehicle or heavy equipment, framed with a double 2×8 top plate and double studs at the siding seams. They’re built heavier than a basic shed for exactly this reason.

It depends on the look and the use. A wood garage matches your house, feels less like an oven in the heat, and customizes easily. A metal building can make sense for larger or commercial spans. We build both and will tell you honestly which fits your plan. See our metal buildings.
